10 km open, wet granular, pretty good skiing.

Open, 31º and cloudy at 7 am. Forecast high today 33º, with snow starting late morning.

The photos are from yesterday. The skiing will be the same, minus the sunshine, take the ice out of the trees. Ian is back out grooming, smoothing the snow back out and putting a track back in. The skiing is good, soft, very skiable.

10 km open, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine. We need more snow back on the upper trails. Maybe this week, depending on the snow today.

The snow today is suppose to start late morning, we are in the 4-6 inch range. After that the weather for skiing this week looks good. Not too cold, not too warm. Not too much snow, the skiing this week looks like it will be just right.

Open, loose wet granular, low trails today.

Open, 31º at 6 am. Forecast high 37º and cloudy.

This photo was taken this morning about 5:45. Ian is grooming and the trail in front of me is groomed with a track.

We will have the low trails open, Woodcock, Turkey, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine. As you can see we still have pretty good snow coverage. Ian is smoothing everything out and putting a track in. The skiing is decent. The snow is granular now, which means the snow is faster than last weekend. But it is loose, like sugar, so you can still snow plow or herring bone on hills. After the 2 days of crummy weather, today is looking downright decent. Pleasant temperatures, very skiable snow. It is time to get back outside.

Sunday’s forecast is for snow. We are in the 4-8 inch range. New snow starting sometime Sunday morning, light throughout the day Sunday. Snow fall picking up Sunday night. A little snow Monday morning.

Closed Thursday and Friday, won’t know about Saturday until Saturday morning.

Closed Thursday and Friday. It is 38º at 6:30 am. We had .68 inches of precipitation so far.

Snow is holding up so far – but we are only 12 hours into a 40 hour thaw, with the warmest temperatures still to come. And another round of unfreezing precipitation Friday morning.

We still have snow, by closing we are hoping to come out ahead when the temperatures drop and the rain turns back to snow.

It is quite a coincidence that today we are full on January 25th photo, the rain and melting snowman. The timeline on the snowman this year would have been full, lovely snowman on January 23, the sleeted filled in snowman January, 24, and the melting snowman January 25.

New snow, now freezing drizzle, a little crust and no grooming.

Open, 26º at 6:50 am and freezing drizzle. 2.3 inches of new snow. There is a little crust on top.

We are going to open, low trails only. We are not grooming. These are, “I am happy to be outside and skiing weather and conditions”. You aren’t out in this weather and snow for the perfect ski experience. But if you bring the right attitude this could be fun.

For the next few days we are on day to day, depending on the weather, check on Thursday and Friday. We may need to close.

Below is a photo of the snowman. Before with fresh snow, during snow and glaze and then after some rain and warmer weather.
