Open at 11 am. The temperature at 7:45 am is 23º. Today’s high will be 35º. But yesterday’s high was 60º.

The skiing is frozen up first thing this morning. Ian groomed last night Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Peregrine, new corduroy and some new tracks. And the Blue Jays. The grooming is lovely, the corduroy is flat, the tracks are in there. But until the sun softens it, it is hard. Really wait until around 11 to get here to ski.

And from yesterday, another 50 km day. Here is the before and after photo. They started at 8 and finished around 3. Stopping to change skis, from klister skis to skin skis and back to klister skis. After about 11am it was a slow mashed potato ski.

Spring has sprung.

Spring skiing at it’s finest. Corn snow is fun to ski on. My dermatologist would be happy to hear me remind you to wear your sunscreen. And don’t forget your sunglasses.

Low trails are in good shape.

Ian went around the Chickadee and Loon last night, cleaned up the downed trees, and smoothed it out, they are in good shape.

Middle and Upper Blue Jay had a good report yesterday.

Springy days are good ski days.

All photos are from yesterday. Reid and Ian on a Middle Blue Jay tour. The snow measuring stick on the Upper Blue Jay. And new skiers from The Dorset School on the Snow Goose.

The skiing will be quicker first thing this morning. Slowing down as the temperature goes up.

This week brings spring skiing. When the temperature is below freezing the skiing will be fast. When the temperature warms up the skiing will slow down. Hitting the sweet spot on corn snow with the sun shining makes for the best ski day!

Good skiing. Loose frozen granular snow. Watch for animal tracks.

The skiing is nice. The snow is grinding up so well. We love that snow cat! 10 km open. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine are all open and the skiing is good.

Remember Day Light Savings started today. The warmest part of the day is now about 12 to 3.

AND yesterday a pair of poles were picked up and taken to a new home by mistake. If you ended up with a pair of Madshus skate poles, about 145cm in length, let us know. We would love to get them back to their owner. And thanks!

We will have some spring skiing and corn snow this week. We are hoping to open the upper trails with warm weather. I’ll let you know. We also have to pay attention to the condition of the dirt/mud road, I will keep you posted on the road conditions also.
