Another day of good skiing.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 12º the skies are clear, and the sunrise was beautiful in it’s subtlety. We had an inch of snow over night and snow flakes were even falling this morning with clear sky.

Skiing on the Low Trails, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine is really good. The track is set nicely, the skate lane is firm and then on top is an inch of fluffy snow. The photo above is this morning on the Grouse.

Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay are groomed flat. They do not have enough snow to set a track. There are a few places with thin cover, and the natural topography of the land is apparent. One customer was not happy at all with her experience up there. The side hill was slippery and there were no tracks for her skis. Hilary skied it yesterday and the day before and said it was great, serene, the skiing is good. And now you know how my job becomes hard. I try to pass on other peoples experience. And now you have to decide, to do or not to do.

Skiing is really good, and the Upper Blue Jay is open. (You can only get there from Chickadee.)

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 5:30 am is 12º. We had a couple inches of new snow between Monday night and Tuesday. Ian groomed Tuesday night. Holy smokes we are lucky to have enough snow to have great skiing.

18.5 km open now! Thanks to the shoveling duo, Ian and Dick.

The “low trails”, Woodcock, Turkey, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine are groomed with a skate lane and a track. The Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay are groomed flat but still only for classic skiing (narrow trails).

And check this out! Skida had a photo shoot here for their Valentines pattern release. My friend Maaika is the photographer, she is amazing. She and Skida (our new friend Eliza) were here to do this photo shoot and used our family as hat wearers, and models.

Here are some of the photos: the pattern is really great, the photos are beyond wonderful. We have a limited supply in stock with our logo on them. Or, you can buy directly from Skida. It is a great, happy hat! Love you Maaika, thanks for the great photos. Love you Skida, thanks for the warm, happy hats! You can check out more hats from the Valentine’s Day collection here.

An inch of new snow. Powder on top of a great base. Wonderful track, and nice skate lane. First Tracks?

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6:30 am is 19º, snow in the forecast for today.

16.5 km of skiing. 1.2 inches of new powdery snow on top of a great base/skiing surface. Tracked and great skate lane, Woodcock, Turkey, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. Chickadee open, it is a classic ski trail, but has no track set at this time.

The forecast for the next week is for good skiing weather. Moderate this week, colder the beginning of next week.

A dusting of snow and another great day for a ski.

Open at 9 am. At 6 am the temperature is 15º and a beautiful sunrise. The forecast high for today is 32º with snow showers this afternoon.

Overnight we had a dusting of snow, and the skiing is fine. 16.5 km open. With the exception of the Chickadee all the open trails have a track and good skate lane. Chickadee is open and the skiing is good, except for a few thin spots. It does not have a track set, and it is not wide enough to skate, and is one of the better skis around.
