Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 25º, and that is about the high for today. We have fresh snow on the ground, about half and inch. And a snow squall is still expected this morning. More snow in the forecast, later today and tonight.

Photo above is on the down track from Styles Junction.

A repeat of yesterday’s paragraph.

All trails are open. The skiing is good. We have been skiing on a minimum of snow on the ground. The natural topography of the lower trails are not as bumpy and lumpy as the upper trails, so with less snow, they are easier to smooth out by the groomer. Some skiers like/need the smoother skiing. The upper trails are great, as long as you are happy skiing the natural lay of the land. (That being said, Ian and his band of merry shovelers have shoveled a lot on all trails.)

Good skiing on 25 km

Grooming and a little snow fall, snow falling and some grooming. That is what is happening around here, snow and grooming, grooming and snow. Just an inch or two of snow ever day or so, keeps everything beautiful. But what about yesterday’s 20 minute blizzard!? Whew! Mindy, like everyone else, came in covered in snow. Wishing for goggles. Casey and Cory were in the field down below and felt like they would be blown away. A similar squall could happen again late this afternoon to early evening. A little snow, a little grooming, it has been a good January.

All trails open, nice skiing.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6:30 am is 21º. Ullr, the God of Snow gave us another 1/2 of soft fluffy snow last night.

All trails are open and ready to ski. Ian groomed Chickadee last night, it will be smoother, classic only. I did hear a rumor the Upper Blue Jay was as good as it gets. And on the “low trails” the skate lane is firm with the new snow slowing it down. The track is solid. And the skiing is good. High temperature today is forecast for 29º, another great day for a ski.

The weather pattern is becoming more active. We wish to stay below freezing, and for more snow. Photo above is on the Middle Blue Jay. Photo below is in the field.

Friday night lights at Wild Wings. No reason to wait to ski, the skiing is great!

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 3º. The forecast for today is 20º and partly sunny to partly cloudy. Snow forecast overnight.

Skiing on the “low trails” today:

Last night the groomer was on Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine, and the down track for the Upper trails. The skiing is good, a lovely hard pack base with yesterday’s powder mixed in. The snow cat does such a great job putting in a track and making a nice firm skate lane. So thankful when we have enough snow to use the snow cat. (Ian is even more grateful when the temperatures are cold.)

Skiing on the upper trails today:

Some early season stats: Days open so far 46. Last season total days open-58 days. The snow measurement at the stake is 13 inches. Total inches of snow fall for the season is 64.7 inches (Nov., Dec., 2024 and Jan. 2025).
