The picture above is the little wood gnomes moving snow.  The Turkey and the Woodcock have now been shoveled and groomed. Keep reading.

Open for season pass holder only. Turkey and Woodcock only trails open. Turkey is ok, to good skiing. Woodcock is ok and icy in spots. Snow Goose is a wash out as is everything else.

The temperature at 7am is 20º. There is a dusting of fresh snow to make the ground look better. But you’d better stick to the old ski. No Christmas skis this week.

This is outdoor exercise type skiing.

We have such limited terrain we want to limit how many skiers are out there. So season pass holders only.

Please follow Covid-19 safety measures. Stay home if you are sick. Masks required. And keep your distance from other skiers.

The weather is not suppose to improve to a very wintery pattern for a couple weeks, So in the meantime; we are wishing for snow, and encouraging you to do your snow dance!!

We need 3 or 4 inches of snow.

PHOTO FROM LAST WEEK

Closed. 21º at 7am. There are snow flakes falling and about an inch of snow from last night on the ground. But we lost a lot of snow. We will just need that 3 to 4 to get skiing again.

The rain shrunk the snow pack. Puddled in low spots to create ice ponds and generally just ruined some really nice snow.

So today we check it out. Decide where our effort should go and figure what is next.

Photo above is from December 17, 2020. The “Big” snow. We will remember it fondly. And darn it, because that was 6 days of really nice skiing. (That is not what it looks like now. I will get a new photo once it is light out.)

What a difference a week makes.

New post, same feel good photo.

Closed, 51º at 7am and raining. Rain and wind forecast for the remainder of the day.

We have lost a lot of snow. Last Friday there was 44 inches of snow on the ground at the stake. 17 inches yesterday on the ground at the stake. And today, 6 inches.

We will reassess tomorrow, Saturday. We will not be open Saturday.

It will take a lot of shoveling, machine work and probably a little snow.

And little amounts of snow are all that are in the forecast. We will get open again as quickly as we can.

So Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas anyway, because why not.

Here’s to colder temperatures and fresh snow.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Celebrations!

We are closed. We will be closed the 24th, 25th, and quite possibly the 26th.

How fast we get open again depends on; how much rain we get, how many trees/branches/sticks blow down in the high wind, how much rain the snow pack holds, where we have to shovel snow back onto the trails.

So stay off the trails. Because big holes just make everything harder to fix once it is all cold enough to fix.

Thanks for checking in and thanks for being a skier, we hope to see you all real soon!!!
