Great day for a Friday ski, all you have to do is get here.

Open, 22º and partly cloudy. We are expecting snow this morning, 1-3 inches, and a temperature of 38º. Clearing skis this afternoon. And a temperature of 18º overnight.

Ian is out grooming and cleaning up. By the time you get here there will be fresh snow falling, the skiing is wonderful, snow globe effect will be happening.

The temperature will be around 32º with fresh snow—-if you have no wax skis you will need Maxiglide, or Swix F4, tip to tail.

This is Martha (above). Martha skis a lot. Martha was attempting to ski, laugh, smile and put her mask on. And Martha went down laughing, and smiling! Then put her mask on. And Martha said the skiing is magical.

Great skiing and lots of smiles.

More Swix gloves and lobster mittens, and red mittens. Some mid weight and some light weight. If you need new gloves, mittens, or split mittens, get here soon for a better selection of sizes.

Great skiing………

Open, 24º at 6 am. One inch of snow overnight. Forecast high 29º and partly cloudy.

All trails are open and great skiing. 25 km classic and 6 km skate. Photo above is on Waite’s Place Loop yesterday morning.

It is a another great day to ski, in a row of great days to ski. Every day is the best ski day ever. And long term, there are many more great days coming up! Sometimes Groundhogs Day goes on and on with really fabulous skiing.

The temperature will be close to 30º today, so get out your Maxiglide. At least get it into your car. You may need it today and Friday. (It is for no wax skis, tip to tail, new snow around 29º to 33º.)

The skiing is so good, there are quite a few people skiing farther and longer than they ever thought they would. In the last few weeks we have had 4 skiers, that I know of, ski every trail. Well, Andy skipped the Turkey, but he skied 2 Chickadees. The skiing is that good. Maybe it is time to challenge yourself, just a little, and ski a different trail. Or ski it twice, Or ski half the system. Let me know your own personal challenge.

And the smiles…………..we don’t get to actually see the mouth part of the smile as often, because of masks. But the smiles are so big, with skiing this wonderful, you can see it in the eyes.

We have new, sparkly snow.

Open, 21º at 7 am and cloudy skis. Maybe some snow this afternoon, high temperature around 24º.

We had 8.1 inches of snow, storm total. There is now 30 inches of snow in our back yard at the “stake”. Ian said right around 30 inches up on the Upper Loop of the Blue Jay at that stake, and 28 inches of snow out at the stake on the Snow Goose. So, yeah, right around 30 inches of snow on the ground. We have had 107 inches of snow so far this season. Snowy winters in the 1980s were 160-170 inches of snow, for the season. February can be snowy, but March is usually the snowiest month of the year.

The temperatures for the future look good for skiing for the next 2 weeks. The skiing is and will be good for a while.

And it is snowing, 8 inches at 5 am.

Open, 25º and 8 inches of new snow at 5 am. Forecast high today 28º, and more snow. All trails open, 25 km classic. Another great ski day. Ian is in the snow cat to groom and Jonathan will be on the snow machine. They will get around all the trails this morning, but everything is powdery, snow covered and beautiful. Snow globe skiing today, wonderful skiing, quiet, and magical.

And you will want Maxiglide on no wax skis. The new snow is on the wetter side and will stick to the no wax skis. Remember to bring it with you, or we have some for sale at the barn. It is like greasing a pan. Rub it on tip to tail. If you don’t know what I am talking about, you haven’t experienced the clumping that results in walking on your skis. It is not fun. Maxiglide, or Swix F4 keeps the snow from sticking on. Other tips. Put the Maxiglide in your pocket, some days you will need to apply it a second time. Don’t ski across the salted road. And slide your skis. Don’t pick them up and “walk”. Slide the ski.
