Open, clear skies expected high 11º. Turkey, Woodcock and Snow Goose are open this morning. No track today. Wide packed trails. Peregrine and Grouse are being worked on. Snow dance everyone!

Trails are in great shape! Looking really good for winter and ready for snow. Walking on the trails right now is lovely. If you take your dog/dogs out to walk, make sure to leash them. Other dogs, porcupines, bears, fisher cats and turkeys have been spotted this year.

Suggestions for the Cold

Dress in layers (on your legs too).
Try to avoid cotton.
Neck warmers and hoods help.
Mittens are way warmer than gloves.
Hand warmers or toe warmers are helpful.
Carry a knapsack. If you overdress you can carry your extra clothes.

When Nordic skiing we all warm up quite a bit. So that makes it a great sport for cold weather (No chairlift). Sweating does happen. A dry shirt to wear for your second lap and/or to wear home is really nice.
