Closed/Open for season pass holders, 29º and sunny. A beautiful blue sky. The high today is only about 35º, so slower skiing in the sun and faster in the shade. Expect variable conditions. The best snow is up on the Peregrine, Middle Blue Jay and Upper Blue Jay.

If Ian can time the softening of the snow he is going to groom the Peregrine and the Turkey.  I’ll let you know tomorrow.

And maple syrup. Chuck and the neighborhood kids gathered sap on Tuesday afternoon, we boiled that Wednesday 10am to 2pm. Chuck and his helpers gathered again Wednesday afternoon and we just kept boiling. We made 10 gallons of syrup, which for us on 200 taps and a 2.5′ X 8′ evaporator is decent. The wind started blowing Wednesday mid-day, and we didn’t lose power until about 7 last night. Just enough day light to finish up with the help of head lamps.

We still gather about 75 buckets. Photo courtesy Jane MacKugler.
