Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is -3. The forecast high is 4º with snow starting around noon.
All photos in today’s post are from yesterday. The skiing is fabulous. Photos below, left to right, are: Peregrine, also Peregrine, Alex’s photo from her Ski All The Trails In One Day ski. The last is a photo of Cliff’s ski to measure the snow at Dick’s tree spot. Up on the top of the trail system, on Upper Blue Jay, Dick had a measuring tree marked for years but it rotted and fell over. Cliff used his ski to measure the snow pack there and it measured 21 1/2″.

And now about “the storm”. We are in the 18″ to 24″ range of snow. This snow is going to start falling at 4º. With the temperature that cold, the ratio of moisture to snow is predicted to be 20:1. Meaning 1 inch of water will make 20 inches of snow.
We will be grooming early on Monday, but it does take time. Even after grooming on Monday morning, the snow will be soft. Skating will be soft until the snow sets up.
The sign up sheet is on the black board for Ski All The Trails In One Day, AKA Full Feather. Now it has been changed to Full Flock by “the committee” yesterday. Three people put their names on the list yesterday. We have quite a few good weather days coming up if you want to get your name on the list.
