Getting ready to ski! 2024-25 here we come.

The 2024-25 ski season is here!

We have been taking advantage of the dry weather and mowing ski trails. The only trails left to mow are Waite’s Loop, the Loon and the down track. Whew! Feels like we have gotten a lot done! There are a few trees to still clean up on the Middle and Upper Blue Jays. And after this rain, especially if we get some wind, there will be more branches and trees to clear off the trails.

Ian will get the excavator going on the Turkey, always smoothing the humps and the bumps, looking to be able to ski on less snow. And then he has some ditching he wants to do to get the water to run off the trails and out of the way.

The next fall trail project this year is using the pole saw on the Chickadee, we call “raising the ceiling”. And filling in some wet spots with “corduroy”.

Oh, and we have the new ice cleats to put on the tracks for the Pisten Bully. That is going to be a big job! But hopefully it will keep Ian from sliding sideways on the steep hills on Peregrine when the snow has been rained on, frozen and turned to ice.

And I have turned on the online store if you are ready to purchase your 2024-2025 season pass.

Yay! Tracy Black is Back! So good to see a Wild Wings post. Our thanks to you and Ian and everyone else for all the prep work you’re doing to make skiing possible even when there is less snow, more ice!

Starting the snow dance early this year. We are always grateful for the fabulous grooming you do….thank you Ian! Your grooming has often made you the only possible place to ski in the area. Looking forward to this season!
