Great skiing on a lovely spring ski day.

Open, 20º at 7:00 am, blue sky and sunshine.

All trails are open. The skiing will be faster first thing this morning, as the temperature warms up and the sun hits the snow, the skiing will slow down. Spring skiing can also mean slower in the sun and faster in the shade.

This is Middle Blue Jay on Thursday afternoon;

Middle Blue Jay

Dick’s tree on Upper Blue Jay. The chain saw marks are 1 foot intervals. So 2 feet of snow, give or take for the wind blowing the snow around. Ian has a measuring stake on the Upper Blue Jay also. The most snow it has measured this season is 28″ and right now it measures 24″.

A few stats on the season. (The winter season is considered to be November 2022-March 2023.)

This is the 56th day we’ve been open in the 22-23 season. And;

We have had 98.3 inches of snow. 17 inches so far in March, which is more than the amount of snow for the month of February.

There are animals moving around. And they are walking straight down the ski trail. Way easier walking! The track on the left, I think is coyote, and on the right, I think raccoon. Let me know if you see it differently. I also saw deer and bobcat tracks. The animals know spring is coming.
