Fall has put on a show. Every day in the woods has been a winner! The photo above is the bridge on the Snow Goose. I keep expecting the fall scenery to get boring or at least I might get used to it, but around each corner my breath is taken away. Maybe that is why I love getting the trails in shape for skiing. I love having a reason to be outside in the woods for hours at a time.
Out on the Snow Goose, the Forest Service has added 7 tree identification signs. They have a lot of info. The tree id cards are a little bit bigger than a playing card. So, while skiing you will have to pay attention and ski over to the tree/sign to read it. You will be seeing the cards in winter, thus, no leaves. Look at the sign and then look at the bark of the tree, and then start to notice other trees with the same bark, and pretty soon you will have learned to identify a few trees by their bark.

And if you are ready to purchase your early season pass, here is the link.
